The Jewish Center of Jackson Heights will offer in-person services for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur. The schedule of services is: Rosh HaShanah Day 1 – Monday, Sept. 26 at 9 a.m. Rosh HaShanah Day 2 – Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 9 a.m. Kol Nidre – Tuesday, October 4 at 6 p.m.

By 1970 there were weekly bar mitzvahs and a Hebrew school of 300 students at the Jewish Center. In the 1950s, the Jewish Center built its first sanctuary north of Roosevelt Avenue. That building was on 82nd Street However, the Jewish Community Center on 77th street is the only synagogue left in Jackson Heights. The membership has declined over the years, with only about 20 people left in the community.
